The Light of the World Retreat is an evangelization process with the purpose of helping parishoners renew their faith and become missionary disciples of the Lord. The retreats are held on a Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at St. Columba parish. The Monday session is held in the evening, and the weekend sessions are during the day.
The team is made up of parishoners who have made the retreat. There is a follow up component of this retreat in small faith sharing groups.

9th Light Of The World Retreat Held at Dothan Parish
by Bobbie Genovese
Thirty one parishioners signed up for the St. Columba parish’s 9th Light Of The World Retreat held on the weekend of March 4-6 . The retreat began with Mass on Saturday morning and proceeded through a series of talks, meditations and discussions as well as a recommitment to the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation. It came to a close on Monday evening with an evaluation of the weekend and the distribution of crosses for the attendees. With the help of a dedicated kitchen headed by Joyce Miller and Xiomara Gallman, along with the cleanup detail, the event was a parish-centered activity. Mary Brozoski was the coordinator of the weekend and Joe Mueller and Julie Blindauer manage the ongoing small group faith communities. Msgr. Patrick Gallagher and Sr. Miriam Fiduccia MSBT head the permanent LOTW Steering Committee along with Mary Brozoski, Joe Mueller, Roberta and Sam Genovese at St. Columba parish.
