2019 has been designated as the year for Strengthening the Family at St. Columba Parish. The year begins on the Feast of the Holy Family Dec. 30, 2018 and ends on Dec. 29, 2019. Family Life has taken a beating in our western society. I invite all our families to join in Strengthening the Family in 2019. The Food Pantry at Catholic Social Services is in need of the following items for the months of February and March. Clients are finding themselves without SNAP benefits (food stamps) and the need is great. We are so thankful to the individuals and families who support our programs and make donations to assist those in need. Please donate any of the following items:

Learn about the Old Testament and how it is viewed through the eyes of the Jewish People. Amy Jill Levine in her lectures presents the books of the Old Testament from a historical as well as the spiritual context.
She looks at the literary forms used in the writing of the Old Testament and how the writers of the Old Testament adapted these to the Books of the Old Testament. Come and learn how the Jewish nation developed and formed themselves in the Old Testament as a people of God.
