The Sacrament of Confirmation

Confirmation is a Catholic Sacrament of mature Christian commitment and a deepening of baptismal gifts. It is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation for Catholics. It is most often associated with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

The policy of the Archdiocese of Mobile states that youth must be in the 11th grade to receive Confirmation.  At St. Columba, our confirmation program is a two year process.  Youth begin the process in the 9th or 10th grade.   Students must attend Confirmation classes (Journey nights) for two years and must also attend youth group (Life Nights) for two years.  All students are expected to attend Mass weekly and reconciliation often.  Confirmations at St. Columba are normally in September every other year.
